What I Eat While Camping for 3 Days

In this video you will see what my family and I ate during a three-day camping trip to Killbear Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada.
I will explain some practical tips for eating healthy while camping and also, I will show you how I prepared nutritious meals that we enjoyed during the trip! These meals are delicious, quick and easy to make so you can enjoy your time in nature instead of cooking all day long.
We are all about chilling, hiking and beach time while camping but that doesn’t mean that we can’t eat healthy nutritious meals while we are enjoying ourselves. There are also some great clips of the outdoors and the area that we camped at, that I hope you will also enjoy.
Few tips to keep in mind when preparing for camping:
1. Pre-wash most of your fruits and veggies.
2. Make simple meals that you can put together easily with other things like mini burgers that you can assemble with buns or rice and veggies. Make bean chilli that you can freeze and warm it up on day 2 or 3. This frozen chilli will also keep your other veggies cold. Pre-Cook and freeze lentils at home for easy and quick lentil taco. Our cooler kept it frozen for a few days.
3. Make your favorite dressings ahead so you can easily put it on salads and enjoy it even more. I love pesto sauce that I water down a little so I can use it as a dressing and add to any meal for extra flavour. Pesto is so versatile, check out my easy recipe nut free and low oil.
4. Chop some veggies like carrots and celery and store it in a jar with water, that keeps the carrots from going dry. Make sure to change the water every 2 days to keep it fresh while camping. (Perfect with hummus). Check these two delicious, homemade hummus recipes.
5. I love bringing frozen fruits like blueberries. It's great to add them to oatmeal or granola. They keep nice and cold in the cooler until you are ready to use them.
6. You can bring dehydrated fruits for snacks as well. Our kids love them at camp. Of course, don't forget the fresh fruit as well.
