Potato Milk

Jump to Recipe

Potato milk is a unique and delicious alternative to traditional dairy milk. This creamy and nutritious milk is made from boiled potatoes and water. Potato milk is high in potassium and vitamin C, and by adding hemp seeds, it is also rich in omega-3 and calcium.

Potato milk is also cost-effective, especially right now with the prices of food rising. Potato milk is a healthy and delicious alternative milk that is worth trying! The best part is that you can use your leftover plain potatoes to make the milk on the spot. Easy and convenient!

Potato Milk

Yields: 1 litre
Total time: 7 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups cooked chopped potatoes (large potato)
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 3 1/2 cups water (preferably filter water)
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional) I have tried both ways and prefer no vanilla
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Cheesecloth or nut milk bag, for straining

Direction:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and process for about a minute. It should come out creamy and smooth. If you are using a regular blender, it could take up to 2 minutes.
  2. Transfer the milk to a bowl with a nut milk bag in it and pour it through. Strain it and enjoy! Store in the bottle or jar in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days.

Tips:

  • You can use your leftover potatoes but make sure they are plain, with nothing on them.
