Immune-Boosting Fire Cider Recipe | Natural Remedy for Cold & amp; Flu Season
Jump to RecipeDiscover the benefits of fire cider, a powerful immune-boosting tonic made with apple cider vinegar, garlic, ginger, onion, citrus, herbs, and spices. Learn why my family uses it every year and watch my step-by-step video recipe!
When the colder months roll in, my family and I like to have something ready in the cupboard to keep our immune systems strong: fire cider. This traditional folk remedy has been used for generations to fight off colds, flu, and seasonal bugs. It’s made by infusing apple cider vinegar with immune-boosting ingredients like garlic, onion, ginger, citrus, herbs, and warming spices.
What I love most about fire cider is how simple it is to prepare in the summer, so it’s ready just in time for fall when everyone starts sniffling. The combination of spicy, citrusy, and herbal flavors creates a fiery tonic that’s not only powerful but also deeply warming.

Some of the amazing benefits of fire cider include:
- Supporting the immune system with natural antibacterial and antiviral ingredients
- Helping clear congestion and sinuses
- Reducing inflammation and supporting digestion
- Providing a daily boost of vitamins and antioxidants
In our home, we take one teaspoon to a tablespoon a day either straight, mixed with water, or stirred into a little honey or juice. It’s spicy, but so worth it for the wellness support it brings to us.
I’ve created a full step-by-step YouTube video where I show you exactly how to make fire cider, ingredient by ingredient, and share more about the benefits of each one. If you’re a visual learner, I highly recommend watching it!
